imID is Armenia's digital identity and trust service provider, backed by a consortium of the country's leading banks and telecom operators. The platform serves over half a million users, with adoption accelerating as it becomes the country's unified digital identity and trust infrastructure. imID Sign, the product VOLO built, delivers electronic signatures with full legal validity, letting individuals and businesses sign, route, and manage documents entirely online.
The Challenge
Digital trust infrastructure has become a prerequisite for modern economies. Financial institutions and enterprises increasingly expect to sign, verify, and manage documents electronically, with full legal validity, without physical presence or paper.
In 2024, ten of Armenia's leading banks and all three major telecom operators established imID as founding board members and shareholders to build exactly this for Armenia: a unified digital trust platform serving every citizen, business, and institution in the country. It has since grown into Armenia's largest digital trust platform, with over 500,000 users and still growing.
imID Sign was born from that mission. A modern e-signature SaaS platform, built from scratch, designed to bring legally valid digital signing to the full breadth of the Armenian market: individuals, SMEs, and enterprises alike. Nothing comparable existed at this scale domestically.

Our Solution
VOLO designed and built the complete SaaS platform for imID Sign, taking full ownership of the interface, the end-to-end digital signature workflow (Signature Creation Application), and the administrative layer, serving as imID's sole engineering partner in bringing the product from concept to production.
imID Sign is the Signature Creation Application, covering the complete logic, workflow, and processing layer that sits on top of imID's Signature Creation Device, the underlying trust infrastructure. Users interact with imID Sign through their existing digital identity, via imID's mobile ID, which was already in place.
The team worked in a hybrid forward-deployed model, combining on-site collaboration with imID's internal team and remote delivery throughout the build, keeping decision-making tight and integration seamless across every stage of development. As a Select Services Partner in the Claude Partner Network, VOLO delivered the solution using AI-accelerated development practices, with data governance and compliance guardrails in place throughout, thereby compressing the idea-to-market timeline to three months. The project was led by a dedicated VOLO team covering business analysis, project management, front-end and back-end development, QA, and UI/UX design.

The Impact
imID Sign launched as a production-ready SaaS platform, built from zero and delivered in three months through AI-accelerated development. For imID, it meant bringing a product to market at the speed the mission required, without compromising on the compliance and security standards that a digital trust platform demands.
In its first week following launch, imID Sign onboarded over 200 users and processed over 500 documents.
For Armenian citizens, businesses, and institutions, the platform represents a fundamental shift in how agreements are made and documents are managed. Processes that previously required physical presence, paper handling, and manual coordination among parties can now be completed instantly, from any device, with legally valid signatures that meet internationally recognized standards.
